Frequently Asked Questions

Understand More

1. What are your rates?

If you have already set a budget for your project, please let us know. This is such that we can establish a scope tailored to your budget.

Otherwise, we will send you our fee schedule. You will need to fill up the request a quote form to give us a fairly detailed brief before we can send you our fee schedule.

If you're comfortable with the rates, let us know. We will then send you an official quotation according to your project brief.

2. Say we've agreed on the cost and timeline, how do we proceed from here?

Generally, these are the basic phases to take a project from start to finish:

  1. Initial discussion about your project
  2. Create a wireframe that outlines the structure and content architecture of your website
  3. Design the layout and look and feel
  4. Design of the rest of the website
  5. Programming of the website
  6. Testing and debugging
  7. Final approval and launch!

3. Do you provide web hosting?

We only host websites created by Hex. With an annual fee of course. We recommend hosting your website on our virtual dedicated hosting server.

Using a virtual dedicated server, this means your website is less prone to downtimes as the server resources are dedicated to us only (unlike shared servers).

Also, we have a system in place to alert us in events of server downtimes, with that we can reboot the server and bring it back to its normal status immediately. This will ensure 24/7 uptime of your website.

4. How many people are in your team?

Hex is run by Ben and Melly. We are honest and reliable people. We like to make impressionable websites. We see our work as an extension of ourselves so we can't bear to put out bad work. So it goes without saying that we take a lot of pride in what we do.

5. I want to hire Hex, what do I do next?

Go to our contact page and fill up the request a quote form.

Be ready with your project brief.

A Refresh For Hex Website!
Posted on Wed, 04 Nov 2009

We've finally updated our website after 2 long years! Well, not really that long as it passed by really quickly.

Design trends have been changing at such a fast pace, we have seen more blogs and websites built with standards based languages, eg. HTML/CSS/Javascript. Even Fantasy Interactive (one of our favourite web design firm that started in Stockholm) started embracing standards based technologies that was once considered boring.

Though HTML websites styled with CSS are a big part of today's current trends, that doesn't mean Flash is left behind. Adobe has been working very hard to push it's Open Screen Project, promoting Flash as a platform on more devices and machines eg. mobile phones, televisions and other consumer electronics etc.

Adobe even broke into the "closed" iPhone platform by enabling developers to build iPhone apps with the upcoming Flash CS5. This will bring endless possibilities to developers, consumers and anyone with a product or service to sell.

Ultimately, whether Flash or standards based technologies, we will never do without either one of them.
